BIO
Clara Bartram Gurresø holds a PhD in politics from Kiel University, in which she explored the criteria and procedures used to allocate international climate adaptation finance. Her research used a case study approach to understand the complexities of the allocation process from the perspective of climate finance providers. She also holds a MA in geography from the University of Edinburgh and a MSc in global development from Copenhagen University. She has been involved in the UN climate negotiations since 2014 in different capacities: as an NGO observer, delegation support for the Seychelles government and a researcher. Among other things, she established and facilitated the interest group on climate finance for the UNFCCC’s research constituency, RINGO.
At THE NEW INSTITUTE, Clara is involved in the program Planetary Governance in the Academic Year 2024/25.
