Johannes studied Politics, Economics and Philosophy in his Master's degree at the University of Hamburg and Political Science and Economics in his Bachelor's degree at the University of Göttingen. He also spent two semesters at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, France, and at Università degli Studi di Perugia, Italy. He speaks German, English, Italian, French and Spanish. Being born into the Anthropocene, he has a strong interest to change the patterns of economy and economics to stay within our planetary boundaries. At THE NEW INSTITUTE, Johannes supports the program “Socio-Economic Transformation“ as a program coordinator and is also co-responsible for the internal sustainability management.

It would be Elinor Ostrom who said: “The core goal of public policy should be to facilitate the development of institutions that bring out the best in humans.”
