Beyond Gender Equality in Human Flourishing
A workshop on the intricate interplay of gender dynamics, societal evolution, and the pressing challenges presented by contemporary environmental issues.
We are excited to host a workshop on the topic of "Beyond Gender Equality in Human Flourishing – Dismantling Violent Dominance Hierarchies," from November 6–7, 2023. As part of our program on Conceptions of Human Flourishing, we will explore the intricate interplay of gender dynamics, societal evolution, and the pressing challenges presented by contemporary environmental issues.
Prompted by the critical juncture of our era — from climate crises to societal discord — this gathering of intellectual minds, uniting prominent figures in social psychoanalytic gender analysis, seeks to excavate the foundational layers of entrenched gender asymmetries. Departing from conventional narratives, our exploration navigates the sociology of gender within the context of climate transition and the evolving narrative of sustainability.
In what ways might this refined comprehension influence narratives in economics, politics, technology, religion, and education, cultivating transformative insights within these spheres? We are looking forward to dive deeper into this dialogue where the reimagining of gender norms converges with a discerning analysis of societal paradigms, providing a contemplative view of subjectivities beyond patriarchal norms.
