Prof. Dr. Burkhard Schwenker is an accomplished strategy consultant and advisor. Formerly Chairman of the Advisory Council, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and long-time CEO of Roland Berger, Burkhard Schwenker transitioned to the role of Senior Fellow at Roland Berger in 2020.
A scholar by training, Burkhard Schwenker earned his degree in mathematics and business administration from the University of Bielefeld, and completed his PhD after gaining management experience as an assistant to the Board of PWA AG. He actively imparts his knowledge by teaching strategic management at the top- ranked HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, and Scenario Planning. He is a member of the University Council at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg and was previously Deputy at the German Academic Association for Business Research.
Burkhard Schwenker currently serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hamburger Sparkasse AG and HASPA Finanzholding, and he also sits on the Supervisory Boards of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), Flughafen Hamburg GmbH, and M.M. Warburg & Co.
Beyond his professional and academic commitments, Burkhard Schwenker actively participates in several sociopolitical institutions and foundations, including the ZEIT-Stiftung, the Senat der Wirtschaft e.V, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, and Stiftung Hamburger Kunstsammlungen.
