Diana’s academic background is in Art History, with a particular focus on contemporary art (although she also has a deep love of early Netherlandish and late medieval Italian painting, as well as medieval illuminated manuscripts). Her career has spanned the art and publishing worlds, and she has worked with artists and academics in museums, universities, and publishing houses in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

At THE NEW INSTITUTE, Diana is part of the Media & Communication team, where she oversees the institute’s publication projects.

  • What gives you hope?
    The fact that there are so many creative individuals out there who are compelled to create and to share some part of themselves with the wider world.

  • How does change happen?
    With perseverance, dedication, faith, and imagination.

  • If you could have a conversation with one person (dead or alive) who would it be?
    The American writer Edith Wharton.
    She was such a brilliant social observer and a knockout writer.
