Program Philosophy of Contemporary Challenges, Open University of Catalonia

BIO

Marina is director of the Master's and Research Program in Philosophy for Contemporary Challenges at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya / Open University of Catalonia. In her work, she focuses on politics and critical thinking. She also expresses the need for a philosophical voice that is capable of challenging and engaging. In one of her most famous books, Nova il·lustració radical (“A new radical enlightenment”, 2017), she rethinks the relation of humans to the world and criticizes how easily humanity currently accepts forms of oppression instead of striving for dignity and freedom. Next to her professorship at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Marina is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Fundació l'ARC, devoted to arts as social transformation, and founder of the collective project Espai en Blanc.

At THE NEW INSTITUTE Marina was involved in the program “The Foundations of Value and Values“.
