BIO

Cima is a purpose-driven sustainability professional with over 17 years of experience in sub-Saharan Africa. Cima has worked with business leaders in the Banking, Financial Regulatory and Telecommunications industries to integrate sustainability strategies, drive large scale community investment projects and advise on regulatory and policy matters.
During her career, she has been involved in developing initiatives such as the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles and Sector Guidelines, Corporate Governance Rating System (CGRS) for the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Nigerian Capital Market Sustainability Disclosure guidelines and Telecommunications and Technology Sustainability Working Group.
Cima is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS). She has participated in various executive education programmes from institutions such as Harvard Business School and Yale School of Management.
Based on her contribution to sustainable development, she was recognized as part of WeForGood International 100 Women Creating A Better Africa in 2020 and 2021. Cima also received the Africa Sustainability Professional of the Year Award at the 2022 SERAS Africa CSR/Sustainability Awards and Sustainability Influencer of the Year Award from the Social Impact and Sustainability Awards (SISA).

At THE NEW INSTITUTE, Cima is involved in the program Africapitalism: Shared Entrepreneurship for Economic Development in the Academic Year 2024/25.
