Preserving and Transferring Indigenous Knowledge in a Digital World

German Institute for Global and Area Studies

We invite you to Co-LABorate 2 Stakeholder Workshop: Preserving and Transferring Indigenous Knowledge in a Digital World.

About

This workshop is designed as a multistakeholder dialogue, emphasizing Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing. Instead of extracting data, the goal is to co-create knowledge through dialogue formats inspired by Indigenous traditions. It will focus on active listening and respect for diverse perspectives, integration of personal experiences and traditional knowledge, consensus-building and relationship-centered discussions.

Outcome

This workshop seeks to strengthen existing networks and advance knowledge on human flourishing and global transformation. Specifically, it aims to produce a workshop report, a journal article, and a policy brief based on insights from impulse talks and discussions. Additionally, leveraging a digital platform, the workshop will showcase indigenous wisdom alongside digital tools and projects that capture stories, myths, terminologies, rituals, and practices—offering alternative perspectives for reimagining social institutions and driving sustainability transformations.
