Colin Mayer is Peter Moores Professor of Management Studies at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. He is also a Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the European Corporate Governance Institute. He researches in the fields of corporate finance, governance, regulation and taxation. Alongside his academic work, Mayer is active in many aspects of financial study and practice. Previously he served as a director and chairman of Oxera, one of the largest independent economics consultancies in Europe. His last book, “Prosperity. Better Business Makes the Greater Good”, offers a radical reformulation of our notions of business, its roles and responsibilities, and the way it operates. At THE NEW INSTITUTE, Mayer will help develop and implement the programme “The Foundations of Value and Values”.
